EID_UL_AZHA:
Eid ul Azha is a religious festival celebrated by Muslims all over the world. The festival is also known as the Greater Eid and it falls on the first day of Shawwal, the ninth month of the Islamic calendar.
The festival marks the end of the annual Hajj, which is one of the five pillars of Islam that every able-bodied Muslim must perform at least once in his or her lifetime. The festival also celebrates the end of the annual fasting period that Muslims observe during the holy month of Ramadan. Eid ul Azha is also celebrated with much fanfare and gaiety in the UAE, where it is a public holiday for all government and private sector employees. The festivities begin with a special prayer called Eid prayer, which is offered by the ruler or head of state or government. The day after the eid prayer, families and friends gather at mosques and other public places to offer special prayers called eid khutba and eid khutba Pahwa. After the prayers, families, and friends enjoy themselves at parties, family reunions, and celebrations in homes and public spaces. Come and celebrate Eid ul Azha with us!
