Mahatma Gandhi

If you're looking for a leader to emulate, consider Gandhi. He was an Indian independence activist, who advocated nonviolent resistance to British rule in India. He led the Quit India movement and was assassinated in 1948 by Nathuram Godse, a member of the Hindu extremist group Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh (RSS).

Gandhi believed that non-cooperation with British authorities would help bring about political change for the Indian people.

This tactic involved boycotting British goods until they agreed to grant self-rule to India; however, it did not result in independence from Britain until 1947 when Jawaharlal Nehru became prime minister after acceding Punjab province from Pakistan following partition by Lord Mountbatten's plan document while being Governor General of India under Article 3 clause 2 & 3(a) which stated: "Though nothing contained herein shall affect any right acquired prior to the such date (i) no person shall be debarred from practicing any profession or calling because he has been convicted on an indictable offense unless.

On 15th August 1947, India became an independent nation after a struggle of over 100 years. The British Empire had ruled India since 1857 and it was not until the end of World War II that they agreed to leave their colonies.
